Pantometrics
-- About the company.
Pantometrics is the company that developed
the Fitclub systems.
- The name Pantometrics means 'related to measurement'.
It derives from a history of work with quantification, economic
analysis, and performance measurement.
- The company was incorporated in Virginia in 1994, and
as of 2006, the company operations are located in Falls
Church, VA.
Pantometrics was started by Mark Martens. Mark has been
a fitness nut all his life. Well,
a nut anyway. Some
of you may remember a stocky guy with a hurt expression,
in a gym back in the 90s: Why dont they
just save my workouts, and let me compete against them?
This complaint became the catalyst for the Fitclub system.
And the technology, which has been under development since
the late 90s, is now owned and marketed by Pantometrics.
Most of the system was developed over a period of years,
much of it on evenings and weekends, by a small and slowly
growing team of sophisticated experts. Well, experts anyway.
- At the time of our first site install at the local Olympus
gym (2006), some of the names of the contributors are: Kevin,
Pankaj, Pamela, Bruce, Michael, Mark, Chris, Richard, Erming,
Derek, Khyam, Marianne, Thomas, Lori, Heather, Josh, Mark,
Michael, Sara, Dave, Ting, Chengmin, Sara, Luke, and Alka.
